Even the most ambitious traveler wouldn’t dream of combining a multi-day safari with a week-long island cruise. Still, thanks to a new initiative from Beyond Cruises, travelers can experience both in one vacation. The cruise line has launched a land-to-sea itinerary that starts with a five-day overland excursion in Kenya and ends with a seven-night cruise in the Seychelles.
The land portion of the journey starts with a stop near Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its abundance of flamingos and hunting. Visitors stay in huts in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve and can see lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, and hippos.

After flying to the Seychelles Islands, guests board the Pegasus to visit some of the world’s most beautiful beaches. Excursions to nature reserves and snorkeling in pristine Seychelles waters will include plenty of sightings of birds, turtles, and fish. The tour includes stops in Curieuse, Cousin Island, Anse Lazio, Aride Islands, St. Pierre, Baie St. Anne, La Digue, and Moyenne Island.

Pegasus was refurbished in 2016 and can accommodate 44 guests in 21 cabins. Its 2,550-square-foot open deck, onboard mini spa, library, and ocean-view restaurant are available to guests.
Travelers looking for the easiest route can book daily direct flights from JFK Airport in New York to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where the journey begins.
