Some travelers believe that lounging on the beach under a small umbrella, sipping fruit cocktails from sunrise to sunset, is the perfect vacation. Of course, yes, it’s possible. But what if you’re looking for something more exciting? Like jumping off a cliff, zip-lining through a forest, or hiking on a centuries-old glacier?
To help the latter category of travelers find their holiday bliss, BestCasinoSites.net has created a list of 15 must-see destinations for thrillseekers. It started with a seeded list of 61 countries. The team selected the winning destinations based on several factors, including the number of roller coasters, casinos, climbing spots, mountain biking trails, hiking, and cross-country trails in each location. After collecting the data, the team standardized it and gave each site a final score of 10 for epinephrine.
After completing the final tally, the team rated France as the actual adventure capital of the world with a score of 8.86.
The team shared in its findings that “the country is known for its stunning mountains, offering more than 720,000 hiking trails. “Push your limits and conquer Europe’s highest peak, Mont Blanc, which stands at 4,810 meters, or hop on one of France’s 227 exciting roller coasters!”
Mexico was close behind in second place with a score of 8.56, which the researchers attributed to the country’s snow-capped peaks and El Potro Rochco, “one of the world’s largest sport climbing areas.” (The magazine also says that more than 360 casinos in the United States are the perfect places to find an indoor adrenaline rush.)
Spain’s “paella and sangria” scored in third place, with 8.41 points. It’s near the top of the list because it’s home to the highest number of thrill-seeking trails, “from rock climbing (10,600) to mountain biking (6430,000) to hiking (10.3 million), of all the destinations studied.”
Argentina followed in fourth place with 8.34 points. The Aconcagua is a towering mountain that attracts more than 3,000 climbers annually. With 172 casinos in the United States, it gets high marks. And, as the study points out, Argentina has the largest casino complex in South America, the Trilenium.
Rounding out the top five was the United States, with a score of 8.16. The United States ranks so high on the list thanks to its rich national parks and, of course, because it has the highest density of casinos, with nearly 3,000 across the country. But that’s not all. The study found that the United States also has more than 900 roller coasters, including the world’s second-fastest roller coaster, Kingdaca, meaning there’s plenty of adrenaline-pumping in our backyard.
